Your home office space should be designed to not only be functional but also fun. Make it a playground business womanas much as a working environment. Fill it with color, posters, pictures, plants or whatever makes you smile the most. Have your own mission statement and goals planted there in front of you to remind you of why you’re there. This is far better than the bland, pointless mission statement you had to stare at in your 9 – 5 job (and secretly hated and totally disagreed with each and every day).

So what is the best home office or small office printer? It’s going to depend on what you *need*. The vast majority of home officers are going to do quite well with a mid-range HP, Lexmark, Epson or Canon inkjet printer. This will produce professional text and graphical output without putting a dent in your bank account and still allow you to present a professional image to your customers.

Converting your basement into a home office isn’t that different from the idea of converting your attic or loft into a home office. The main thing that stands out here is that far less work is required for the actual conversion itself. You won’t have to put down a new flooring system, generally won’t have to do much rewiring and won’t have to mess around with ceiling heights or new window systems. Granted some work will be required to tidy it all up but most basement home offices should be quite easy to establish.

There are essentially two types of home office furniture available. Antique furniture is typically very pricy and does not function as well in today’s modern world.  The majority of pieces are made from a heavy wood that is bulky and high maintenance to keep the furniture looking nice.  While many of these pieces are gorgeous, the majority are very impractical to use in a home office space.
